What this site knows about you.
Short version: your email address, if you type it in, and nothing else. There is no database, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. The long version is below, written so you can check it against what the site actually does.
What gets collected
Two forms on this site ask for an email address. Getting Click Designer asks for one and nothing else: no name, no postal address, no account, no password. The “get an email when there’s an update” box on the product page takes an address and forwards it.
That is the complete list. The site has no login, so there is no profile attached to you and nothing to accumulate over time.
What happens to your email address
When you request the download, your address is used to send the request and is written to the server log. It is not added to a mailing list and it is not stored in a database, because there is no database. Your order number and license key are generated from a signed token that travels in the confirmation page’s URL, and that token deliberately carries no name or email, because URLs end up in browser history and shared links.
When you sign up for update notifications, the address is emailed to viamusicstudios@icloud.com so a human can add you to a list by hand when there is something to send. It is not stored on this site.
Nothing you submit is sold, rented, or shared for advertising. There is no advertising here to share it with.
What this site does not do
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom.
- No tracking cookies. In fact no cookies at all: the site sets none.
- No advertising pixels, no social embeds, no session recording.
- No third-party fonts loaded at runtime. The two typefaces are downloaded at build time and served from this domain, so your browser never contacts a font provider.
- No third-party JavaScript of any kind on the pages you browse.
The cart is stored in your browser
Your cart lives in your own browser’s local storage under the key via.cart.v1. It never leaves your machine until you place an order, and even then only the product code and quantity are sent. Clearing your browser data clears it. This is a technical requirement of the cart working at all, which is why there is no consent banner asking about it.
Server logs
Like every website, this one runs on a host that records requests. Those logs include IP addresses, timestamps, and the pages requested, and they exist so the site can be kept running and abuse can be spotted. Order events are written to the same log, which means an email address you submitted appears there.
Your IP address is also held in memory for a few minutes to rate limit the two forms, so nobody can script them. It is not written anywhere and is discarded when the window passes.
The other companies involved
- Netlify hosts the site, so it handles every request and keeps the access logs described above.
- Resend delivers the update notification emails, so an address you submit to that form passes through them.
- Stripe would handle payment if Click Designer were ever sold. It is free today, so no payment processor is contacted at all and no card details exist to protect. If that changes, this page changes with it.
How long anything is kept
Download links stop working after 30 days, which is enforced by the signed token itself rather than by a stored record. Host logs roll off on Netlify’s own schedule. Emails sent to the studio inbox stay there until they are deleted, the same as any inbox.
Getting your data removed
Because so little is kept, this is usually one email. Write to viamusicstudios@icloud.com and ask, and any record of your address in the studio inbox is deleted. You can ask what is held, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. If you are in the UK, EU, or California, those are rights you already have under the GDPR and the CCPA, and the answer here is the same either way.
There is no account to delete and no marketing list to unsubscribe from, because neither exists.
Children
This is a tool for people making records. It is not directed at children and nothing here is aimed at anyone under 13.
Changes to this page
If what the site collects changes, this page gets updated and the date at the top moves. There is no mailing list to announce it on, so the date is the honest signal.
Asking about any of this
Email viamusicstudios@icloud.com. A person reads it. The terms of use cover the license itself.
