Four steps.

Open the disk image
Open the .dmg and drag the app to Applications. The AUv3 plug-in lives inside it, so macOS registers it the first time the app is launched.

Open Logic
Logic validates new Audio Units at launch. If it does not appear, use Plug-In Manager to reset and rescan the selection.

Insert it
Add Click Designer to a Software Instrument track. It loads as an AUv3 instrument and picks up Logic's transport, tempo, and meter on its own.

Draw a click region
Drag across the bars where the click belongs, then pick the pulse for that passage. Anywhere you leave empty stays silent, which is the whole idea. Downbeat, beat, and subdivision each take their own sound and level.

Straight answers.
Why not just use Logic's built-in metronome?
Logic's click runs at one setting across the whole project. Click Designer only sounds where you have drawn a region, and every region can pulse differently. A cue with a rubato opening, a 7/8 middle, and a ritard into the last bar is three different click behaviors in one pass.
What happens where there's no region?
Silence. That's the default, and it's the point. The click appears where you put it and nowhere else, so nobody is playing over a metronome they stopped needing forty bars ago.
Does it follow the tempo track?
Yes. It reads Logic's transport, tempo, and time signature, tempo ramps included. It follows tempo and never sets it.
How does it learn the tempo and meter map?
Three ways, all of them deliberate. Record the map from Logic while the project plays, import it from a Standard MIDI File, or add and edit meter changes inside Click Designer. Nothing is overwritten until you ask for it.
What's a preparatory click?
A short passage of click before a destination, so a player hears the tempo that's about to start rather than guessing at it. It works ahead of an entrance or a tempo change, and it works before bar 1. Give it a different sound and nobody mistakes the preparation for the downbeat.
Can I use my own click sounds?
Either import one or build one. A short sample gets start and end points, fades, tuning by octave and semitone, mono conversion, and normalization; the synthesis controls make a click from scratch. Factory sounds stay recoverable either way, so nothing you edit is lost for good.
Can I export the click as audio?
Yes, over the bar range you choose, without playing it in. Mono or stereo, WAVE, AIFF, or CAF, at 16-bit, 24-bit, or 32-bit float. Silence in the arrangement stays silent in the file, so it drops onto the timeline already lined up.
Which plug-in formats and hosts are supported?
Today it's a macOS AUv3 instrument, designed and tested with Logic Pro. The click engine is built separately from the host integration so other formats and DAWs can follow later, but nothing else is supported yet.
Is it going to stay free?
It's free right now, and anyone who downloads it while it's free keeps it. When it does get a price it will be a one-time purchase rather than a subscription, and that price applies to new customers, not to you.
Is there any copy protection?
No. No account, no activation, no phoning home, no license server that can go dark in five years. You download a package, you run the installer, it works.
Bug reports
Tell me the version, the host, and what you were doing.
That’s genuinely enough to fix most things. If the plugin crashed, macOS will have written a report to Console under User Reports. Attaching it turns a week of guessing into an afternoon.
